I'm sure that at least a few of you have been following my posts about my furnace. After replacing the house battery the furnace fired up normally but only once. Since then when I turn up the thermostat and nothing happens. I wiggle the plug that connects the furnace and it begins to run. The fan blows but nothing else, no clicks, no spark, no warm air. I've cleaned the corrosion off the plug again and again but the same thing happens. Even if there were no problem with the plug I think there is still another issue. The red wire has the required 12-13 volts and the yellow wire is grounded.

Anyone have an idea that I haven't thought of? Fortunately it's happening at the right time a year. The evening temps are in the high 60's.

I hate my furnace.

Check the sail switch first for insect restriction. Is the air flow good in and out at the outside vents?

Try oiling the blower motor and then checking its run current. You may be tripping the overcurrent, or it may not be putting enough airr across the air safety to make it up. Sol Aire or Suburban?
Since I got the dinette from Charley, and since it will cover teh furnace, the next few days are Furnace Fixit at my place.

In defense of the humble furnace let me say -

We love our furnace. Put in a new one. We go dry camping in the desert in the winter. It will blow you out of the coach with heat if its working right.

Just saying.

There is an excellent video on Motorhome.com that shows how to install a catalytic heater. I really liked it as a tutorial for flaring copper tubing. Check it out. <http://www.motorhome.com>
