Immediately after work I drove to my storage facility south of town where I
met up with Tom P. I briefly considered parking my vehicle inside the lot,
but I decided to leave it right outside the office after making sure it was
okay with the office lady. I hopped into Tom's pick up truck and we drove
the two hours south on Interstate 55 to Hammond louisiana.

Johnny B was traveling for work today and tomorrow and as it happened
Hammond was his stopping point. Also as it happened he had some perfectly
fine 16.5 inch wheels and tires after recently upgrading to 16 inch alloys.
He threw them into the back of his pick up truck and brought them with him.
Tom and I went to Hammond to meet him.

We arrived about an hour before Johnny did, so we went to the nearby
Camping World to see if they had a specialty connector that Tom needed as
well as window shop. I saw lots of interesting things that gave me lots of
ideas. For example, did you know they make metal screens that go over the
various exhaust ports and other openings in an RV that are designed
specifically to keep out flying insects? I took lots of pictures of
interesting things that I thought I might want down the road. :-)

Soon Johnny arrived and Tom backed his pick up truck right up against the
back of Johnny's pick up truck so when we lowered the tailgate, we were
able to roll The wheels from one truck to the other easy peasey.

I consulted my smart phone for a Cajun restaurant and there was one
directly across the street from the hotel. I had the seafood gumbo, Tom had
an all-you-can-eat catfish plate, and Johnny had some sort of seafood
salad. The food was very good, and I picked up the check as well as paid
for Tom's gas. It was very nice to be able to hang out with these guys, a
lot of fun. :-)

After dinner, we still had two hours and change to go back home, so we
headed out. At long last we got back to the storage unit, I was reminded
that the gate does not work after 9 PM. It's a good thing that I parked
outside of the gate. Tom said that he probably had to come back into town
this weekend anyway, so we will try to unload the wheels at storage unit
later this weekend.

Many thanks to everyone! Sleep NOW!

You tell some good stories. I hope you are saving them. I could use a bowl of the seafood gumbo.

"A storyteller is a Southerner that has been asked a question. Not only
only will you get an answer, but you will also get an amusing anecdote or
two with which to illustrate it." If Mark Twain didn't say that, he
should've. :)

<A storyteller is a Southerner that has been asked a question.>

Too funny...I once asked a guy when I was traveling in GA years ago, "excuse me sir, do you have the time? " He would not tell me until I got the whole story about how his watch worked! I mean how many jewels, how long it runs per wind, as well as the chain of ownership through his rather large family over the years, etc etc...
I have never forgoten it...

The place's name is Don's Seafood. Located directly across the street from the Motel 6, in Hammond, LA. I highly recommend it. I had a fried butterfly shrimp and catfish plate. Yum!
I'll be having lunch here in the way to Spring International as I tool along I-12.
