Just got back from a great week in the GMC (any week in the GMC is great.)
Had some issues on the way to camp. the main needle on the Onan carb backed out and fell down onto the little bracket for the slide. drove for about 20 min before I could find a spot to pull off. screwed needle back in after cleaning and she worked fine but now gas wants to come out around the needle and will just vibrate right out. I set it to the 1 and a 1/4 turns and filled the hole with sealall. this held it in place for about and hour. did the same again and has held for a couple of days. (2 hours of run time)
We also had the valve leak for the fresh water drain and a fuel filter clog on the 455 (did not have a spare with and had to run without filter, will get it replaced before driving far)
So back to the Onan question, what holds the needle into the carb? just the one "O" ring? can one replace that?

Once you replace everything that is attached to something else. It will all be fixed.

Yes, you need to replace the o-ring. My guess is that is has gotten hard and shrank a little bit. You want a 1/4" OD X 1/8" ID o-ring. They are available at most hardware stores. Buna rubber is just fine for this o-ring. If you can get a viton rubber o-ring that will work just fine too! I know that Emery carries them by the bag.
