Hi all, been awhile. Mike Derr here driving on I90, east just past
Chicago, Hammond, IN..

Front chamber of master cyclinder loses fluid. Brake light on. I'm guessing
a front break line leak.

Any recommendations for repairs alone way to Holland MI or Kalamazoo MI, or
I90 on way here in Northern IN

Thanks much appreciated

Mike

Nope, rear brakes. Most likely wheel cylinders. Pull wheels & check..

If you have the stock master cylinder the front chamber is for the rear brakes.
So you want to chech the rear brake lines and hoses. It is likely to be a leaking rear wheel cylinder.

If you want to work on it yourself with my help, stop by my hangar. That is the next county east of Hammond and about 20 miles away. I'm at hangar L1 at Porter County Airport. Take I-90 to Indiana 49. Then south on Indiana 49 to US 30. The Valparaiso Airport is just northeast of that intersection. You will see it from I-65. I can give you electrical hook ups for the coach and park you inside out of the sun. You are welcome to stay as long as you want. I have an extra car you can drive while you are here and there are plenty of parts stores in town about 3 miles away.

Early morning would be best time to work on it since it is 95 degrees here right now at 5PM.

My unlisted home phone is two one 9 dash 9 eight eight dash 4 five four 7.

Cool. I will remember that when the spousal unit kicks me out of the house...

Yes but you have to show up with the front section of you master cylinder empty.

My thought was to get him down here for the night and park him inside out of the sun. Then look at it in the morning when it is cooler. We can get whatever parts he may need locally. About the only thing not available locally would be that rear "tee" type hose that feeds both rear brakes.

I'll stand by and see if he calls on the phone. My OAT still says 95 degrees at 5:45 PM CDT.

Well it is 11:00 PM and I never heard from him, so he must have continued on his way to Michigan.

Ken,
Sounds like you've had a nice pleasant day temperature wise.

At 11:20 pm here in Red Bluff it is still 83*.

Predicted to be only 113* tomorrow. But as they say in Arizona "It's a dry heat" whatever that means. Hot is Hot.

I have been in Phoenix in the summer more than once. You can have the dry heat. It is still hot.

I was suppose to roto-till a yard at a new house this week with my tractor. I got there on Monday with my tractor and someone trenched the yard all up to put in a sprinkler system. Then they never returned all week because it was "too hot". Needless to say I can not roto-till and level the lot now because I'll fill in the trenches. He has got until next Monday to finish the job or I'm going to till it any way, heat or no heat. He can dig out the trenches again as far As I'm concerned. It has been in the high 90's all week. It was 100 when I went out on Monday to till that yard. Of course we have humidity to go along with it. If it were to dry out like Arizona is that yard would be hard as concrete on my tiller.

Good luck with 113 degrees.
