Good afternoon fellow asylum patients,
Awhile back someone mentioned a mod when removing the AC compressor to make servicing at a later date easier, something about replacing a bolt with a stud. I'm going to tackle valve seals and the left looks like a cake walk but the right has that 30 lb. weight on the top of it and just trying to do all I can to make it easy. I've got a pretty bare bones motor since the PO did the whole Edelbrock top end thing and it is literally a 12000lb hot rod.

Is this what you are talking about? I just took my compressor off this week for other reasons and it was not difficult to loosen bolts - they had all been worked on maybe 12 years ago. I made no mods, so maybe you won't have to either.
