Larry, you were pretty close. I first met Bobby in the summer of 2007. I
went to his home. Both he and Peggy were so gracious. Bobby told me he
limped because of a stroke. It wasn't apparent to me that he had any other
problem. About 18 months later his started having physical problems. His
memory was also effected but, when you asked about his GMC, he could start
at the beginning of his story and step through nearly everything he had
done and why. When I first looked in the coach I was totally amazed and
how he had gutted the interior and replaced it like he wanted, including
the great job of padding the headliner in the cab. What amazed me that the
walls and ceiling were of FRB. I would have thought it would have made it
noisy but, with the extra insulation he had added and Peggy's fabric
touches, it was rather quiet. When I walked away I remember thinking the
only thing missing was a contrasting color. I see that it now has that.
Someone is going to get a bargain. If I were a bigger fool, I'd drive over
to Mt. Carmel, IL and give the man what he's asking for then drive back to
Louisville and go show Peggy.
By the way, those of us that know Jim Miller in Hamilton, OH also know
that he and his wife were also excellent at waterskiing, too. In fact,
that's how Jim and Nancy met. That was life in the 1960's when having a
small boat was as exciting as having a motorhome.

Byron,
Bobbie and I had several long talks about his GMC. When I first bought my coach in 2002, I went solo to the GMCMI rally in Nashville. Bobbie and his wife were the first ones to welcome me into their coach. I spent many hours in their coach trying to figure out what I was going to do with mine. One of the things he told me is that that GMC saved his life. After he retired (can't remember what he did) it gave him a purpose. A great guy. If I were starting over, or looking for a first time coach...that would be the one.

Bobby Moore's GMC is first class. He was a master craftsman. It is gorgeous inside and out. I haven't seen the coach since he died but it is worth a look if someone wants an incredibly nice GMC that has numerous upgrades and is likely road ready. Bobby was a dedicated GMC owner and member of the GMC motorhome community. The last time I saw him I had driven to Louisville to borrow a tool. He wouldn't let me borrow it but gave it to me instead, along with about 20 6X6X18" pieces oak cribbing that he insisted I take with me and keep. He couldn't do enough for friends and strangers alike. I didn't know what happened to his coach until I happened to run across the ad on Craig's List. If someone is looking for a GMC, this one merits serious consideration.

Very funny Steve. Thanks for starting my day with a laugh. I first met Bobby about 10 years ago at a rally in Florida. He told me if he could only attend one rally it would be Bean Station. He was right, it is a great rally.
