I have searched and I have read and the only thing I can come up with is the firestone transforce HT at tire rack for 152 bucks US. I am in canada and the closest price I can find is 50 bucks more per tire.
I can not find an online price for any of the other brands listed here. (cooper dunlop etc)
I need 6 tires as the ones on now are 7 to 8 years old and I am not comfortable trying to get one more year out of them. I would love to jump to the eagle's from Jim but can only swing the tires for now.
can anybody provide a link to cheaper 16.5 tires, on the east coast? shipping is a killer.
thanks

Are you a US military Veteran? You might be able to but them through
Veterans Canteen Service, gets 'em cheaper AND there's no sales tax. That's
what I did a couple of months ago to put tires on the Royale.

Adam
I had the same problem a few years ago and ended up making it part of a vacation drove to Portsmouth , NH and had the tires changed and a 6 Wheel alignment. I can look up the place I used if you are interested the tires they got for me were less than 4 months old. They were almost 60% cheaper installed and balanced the. Here in Canada

Not to overstate the obvious, but the money you'd save on buying better 16" tires will provide a big downpayment on those aluminum rims. It's really a pretty good "investment" when you look at it that way, as opposed to just buying another set of dinosaur 16.5" tires for way too much money, which will leave right where you are now next time you need tires.
