Last September my buddies chipped in for a rear-view camera for the coach. They went a little high-end, but I'm not complaining. I've been drooling over it but didn't want to install it until I replaced the headliner. Well this weekend I mounted the camera bracket at the centerline of the rear window using wellnuts. The pigtail from the camera, though, is only about 6' long, so I'd have to penetrate the rear of the coach somewhere. I called the company, Rear View Safety, to see if I could exchange the camera for one with a longer pigtail. Sean called me back this morning and said that they would swap (no charge!) the camera for one with a 30' cord.
I'm astounded with that kind of service. With a 30' cord I can choose the best place to enter the coach and simply snake the cable around the rear window in the gap so that it's almost invisible.
I'll do my best to post pictures, but I always seem to get caught up in the work and forget to take pictures.
The unit I have looks to be of very high quality and will accept 3 inputs for the color screen.

I drilled a small hole at an up angle just above the rear window, cut the connector off my camera's cable in order to feed it through then reattached the connector.

FWIW, I mounted my rearview camera above my license plate, using the screws that are already there (happily, they lined up with the itty bitty little mount, other than having to slightly enlarge the holes in the mount). That gives me a very good "backing up view" from the level of the car behind (easy enough to judge where you are, and it's JUST far enough to the left to nearly avoid the spare tire case showing up on the screen).
My camera was a wireless unit, though I did have to punch a hole through the rear cap. However, since I mounted it above the license plate, I just drilled the hole behind the license plate and routed the wire down into the "electrical area" under my rear bed. I get the impression that I'm at the limit of the wireless transmitter's range, but it works just fine, and it made hooking up the power to the rearview light circuit a piece of cake (since it's right there in the area).
Here's a photo of the camera install (you can see how I used the existing screws): http://www.habcycles.com/gmcrv1.jpg
Here's the view from the cockpit: http://www.habcycles.com/gmcrv2.jpg
This system is anything but "high end" but I've been very happy with it - it's got a very functional GPS, bluetooth hands-free, MP3 and video players, an FM modulator (for "broadcasting" stored music to the dash radio), and a Windows CE system, and it cost peanuts, and has come down from there (currently $103 delivered). http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120885056984&ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:MOTORS:3160

I mounted what sounds like the same system (Rear View Safety) on my coach last winter. It works great in daylight or with artificial light at night but the infrared lights provide a very blurred image. It looks like the lights are reflecting off the lens of the camera.
Let us know how yours works.
