This is an amazing process. Watch the video through the end.

I'm not sure that it would be durable enough for a bumper, but for almost
anything else it looks promising.

I have emailed the manufacturer in Germany to inquire about U.S.
distributors.

Here is their basic web site under construction:

Let us know if you hear anything. A few biker folks looked into them
years ago and there was no distribution or sales anywhere.

I've seen some of this fake chrome in person. It's impressive as all heck! Certainly not as tough as real chrome but is indeed on a par with any hardened paint.

I'm seriously thinking about using it to do the trim on my roadster simply because I don't want to spend the money on the real stuff. I can make the trim out of aluminum and 'chrome' it cheaper than making it out of bronze and having it plated or stainless and polishing it...besides stainless is hateful stuff to shape...

$300 for 25 sq ft is pretty dang inexpensive. $3K would chrome the whole coach. Who's going to be first?

Hi, I've used the product from a very well known supplier in LA and it
sucks. The stuff has no UV protectant and after a few months in the sun it
fades. If you read the fine print carefully it indicates that it not to be
used for extended outdoor use. Just my experience.

Thanks,

This spray on stuff is the same as you used to get on your model car kits.
Not worth beans.

I think if you'll watch the video, you'll see that it certainly isn't. I
know what you are talking about though and you're right, those paints were
garbage.

Gary,

Your statement below is not clear to me; which product did you use? The one in the Jay Leno video or the one that JR Wright
mentioned?

Rob M.

If you spray clear over it to protect it, it looks like aluminum.
Not good.
