My hatch cover is not secure in the front. Not sure why. I am planing to make a new cover. Mine was cut up to put a different carb on it. I have to steel plate that was on it before it was cut up.
I need to know how it is supposed to be secure in the front.

Hi, Art. One mod that I've seen is to cut the hatch shorter at the front non-screw end and attach an appropriate thickness, ~4" deep board/plywood with a piano hinge. The reason that was done is so that the hatch now pivots from a point where it stays open on it's own without a prop. Since yours is already shorter...

when you have it out working with it, put a port hole from a boat that can be opened in a few seconds to throw water or something if
needed and and also you can look through the glass at all times for trouble.
happy 4th everyone, especially those that gave service. thank you.

If you do that, make sure that you get a GLASS port! Some may be plastic!
Better yet, get a Fire Fight foam extinguisher from Jim B at GMC Coop to put out the fire first!

I agree mac, foam is best from JimB.
my port has a stainless steel port storm door on top of the thick glass. Unique port hole.
happy 4th Mac. Thanks for your service. Mick :-)
