Hi everyone, I just have to say thank you to everyone that has been
generously heaping the free advise on us as we work our way through this
coach. This is only the second forum I have been associated with that is
so friendly and giving.
Our coach is a 73 unknown model and it came with 2 sofa's behind the
drivers compartment. It has the telltale signs that a front dinette was
originally there. We have the opportunity to get a front dinette (thank
you quadracerx), but after laying out the living area with the dinette
size it looks like it would be a little cramped and the dinette seats
seem a little short for 4 to sit and eat.
Is the front dinette comfortable for 4 to sit and eat?
My other thought is to use the the 2 sofa's and some kind of table that
mounts or stores under one of the tables. This idea seams like it would
lead to a more open feeling living area Plus the 2 sofa's pulled out
would give you a massive bed up front, could scatter grand kids all over
it.LOL
Any thoughts on advantages or disadvantages of different floor plans
would be helpful as wee decide what we want to do.
Thank You
Brian & RaeDean

I am redoing the living area as well Threw out the sofa and the dinette seat ( 1) and the chair Lost at least acouple of hundred pounds, those were heavy iron.
Now building a corner seating arrangement behind the codriverseat using the old folding table. The seating will be in front og the step as well. I figure i can life with stepping on the seating to get to the drivers seat.
This gives space for a larger kitchen to please the wife

Hi Brian and RaeDean,
My Dad, my brother, and I all have the 26-3 model with the dinnette behind the passenger seat and the couch behind the driver. We have always found this arrangement accommodating for our families to live and travel in. As far as 4 adults sitting there "comfortably", lets just say you want to all be friends! For my wife and I and our 2 teenage daughters, we can all fit.
We did build up the dinnette on a ~3-4" base and used reupholstered Flexsteel original dinnete seats before carpeting. To build a similar base, please see the link below from when we remodelled my Dad's 73 CanyonLands:

Whatever you decide to do, I wish you success and hope you and family enjoy it as much as we have!
