I may have missed it or perhaps it may be obvious but where and how did the fire start ?? When I went to start my GMC after the winter storage I noticed that I wasn't getting any fuel (which was odd since I have an electric fuel pump). Upon inspection I found that the rubber gas line into the mechanical fuel pump had cracked and was spewing gas. So much for old rubber lines and ethanol.

I had put on the Howell fuel injection system, and once that was running -
smelled gas - looked at the fuel lines and they were all old and rotting,
so had them all completely replaced - even the line back to the generator.
As best as I can tell - something leaked/burst with the fuel lines into the
injector intake. I actually had the generator running when the fire
started (it was hot so was running the roof AC). The fire started
completely on top of the engine under the air cleaner.

Clay, if it was the red fuel hose from Howell I recall reading that several
of the guys on the net had issues with that hose. This was a couple of years
back. Because of that I used Aeroquip SS over Teflon for my lines right from
the tank.

Thanks,
