Ok, I found what I was looking for. I bought the coach from William Jeanes,
former editor of Car and Driver and publisher of Road and Track for a
while. He inherited the coach from his father.
"Dear Robin:
I was editor-in-chief of Car and Driver from 1987 to 1993 and then
publisher of C/D and Road & Track for three and one-half years after that.
My dad was Harrell F. Jeanes who was a partner in Tayloy & Jeanes here. T&J
was the Detroit Diesel Allison distributor for this part of the country.
Cheers,
Wm"
His father Harrell F. Jeanes got it from William A. Taylor who I think is
the original owner.

The folks at C&D were kind of nutty for "improving" things. I wonder if this came to your Barn Queen, too.
