This keeps getting funnier and funnier.
So I work for a Company that buys 5million a year from Cummins/Onan
I talked to the our salesman and he said he would give me Onan Parts at Dealer Cost. I thought, "What a great deal"
I called the Mid/Atlantic Cummins/Onan Parts Order center.
I give them my Genset Model and SN.

And every part they send me is wrong, and I have to return.

I even sent them pictures from the Onan Parts Catalog (1974) with the original Part Numbers, and they keep sending me the wrong parts.

The Funny thing is I am only Looking for consumable parts like, Points 160-1154
Oil Filter 122-0323
Condenser 312-0069
Carburetor Repair Kit(With Float Valve Set) 146-0180
Brush 214-0096
Brush Spring 212-1232

Does anyone have the New (2013) Part Number so I can get me parts?

We are now a full Onan sales and Service Onan Cummins dealer.
We can quote New Onan units delivered for better price than Camping World.
Most of the part # are superseded so if your not careful, you'll experience
frustration.

Jim,

While I think that is a good thing for you, I think it will be a better move for Onan.

Many dealers seem to think that they are doing you a favor just to talk to you.

Jim,

Does Cummings \ Onan prevent you from advertising your price on-line? Would it be against their rules for you to post an opinion about which unit you think would be best for the coaches? I know they have dual fuel generators and if my old troll ever rolls-over and dies I'd like to have gasoline + propane for my generator.
Is 5.5k enough juice - I'd guess it's plenty.

In the same vein, I'm looking for a replacement for the air filter on my Onan 6000. The crossover reference shows a NAPA 6270 as the replacement, but that filter is larger in diameter and in length and has the plastic vanes. The filter I took off (no numbers anywhere) is 3" in diameter and 6" long. The NAPA filter is 3.25" X 7.25" I'm sure the vanes are not a problem, but the length won't work for me, or at least it will be very tight. Concerned about good fit at the connection and I'd need a longer threaded steel rod.

This is one of those parts I'd like to buy from one of our vendors, but S&H is almost equal to the price of the filter.

Well, you could have fooled me. I'm going to have a look-see in the cool of the morning and go get that NAPA thing. Would you leave the vanes on or snap it off?

I agree that the cost of freight is high when you purchase just the filter.
UPS is our favored shipper, however we will us USPS, but by the time we go
with tracking and insurance, it get to be as much.
Keep in mind that outside California, there is no tax and your not using
your car.
We supply other GMC vendors with the 6K and 4K air filters.
