Hello Everyone,
Prospective GMCer here. Traveling down a county road in Chester, NJ, I
spotted a Motorhome peeking out from behind a building. Intrigued, I parked
my car to check it out. One thing led to another and I found myself
intrigued by this thing, and ultimately (and upon further research) the
Motorhome model itself! It is in relatively rough aesthetic condition,
though the engine does turn over and idles well (I have not had the
opportunity to test drive it yet). It has not been on the road for a couple
years, though it has been turned over roughly once every week or two as a
preventative measure. Tom (the owner) has suggested that I touch base with
this list in the hopes that someone is in the area and available to come
down and help out with the diagnosis. I am looking to get it on the road by
the first or second week of July for about 30 days. Of course this is only
possible if extensive mechanical maintenance/repairs are not required.
Unfortunately I cannot judge this on my own. So this is where (hopefully)
one of you come in. I understand the community is quite fond of these
things, and now that I have experienced one up close, I can see why!
Perhaps someone would like to come help me out? I am of course willing to
pay for your time if necessary.
Thank you in advance for any help. I can make myself available almost any
day with some notice.

Hi Tal, welcome to the group. Two things come to mind: 1: get the TSA number from under the passenger side hood opening and post it here. 2. Find the Black List by searching on here; you'll get some very knowledgeable people who are probably close by to you. These are folks who volunteer to help first-timers and anyone in trouble.
Also look at the CO-OP run by Jim Bounds out of Orlando; he has a list of (usually) 30 or more coaches for sale.
Also search on here for "Coaches for sale". Last time I saw this post was a couple of weeks ago, but it had a list of 75 or so coaches for sale.
The coach has original steel 16.5" wheels. Tires are hard to find. Most of us have changed to aluminum that Jim Kanamoto (Applied Air Filters) stocks in CA. Expensive but well worth it in weight saving and ability to find tires easily. Body and glass look good from this view.
I'm sure others will chime in shortly, Good luck.

Actually, I should looked at the pictures first, that motorhome is on Bartley rd...I know some of its history, including some recent major mechanical work done on it by Chester tire (iirc). Maybe it was country tire. It hasn't been owned for long by this owner it sat about a mile up the road closer to shop rite for some time. I was eyeing it up when I was building the Benjamin Moore Solar Farm. It was sold before I had the chance. Feel fee to call me, see previous post for number.

Tal,
Be very careful, even if the smartest, most experienced GMC owner / mechanic looks at it you can still run into problems.
I bought a GMC five years ago and had it taken to the GMC specialist Ken Frey in Quakertown, PA. I told him to go over it from end
to end and fix:
A) anything that would get us killed.
B) anything that would leave us sitting by the side of the road waiting for Mr. Hook!
Ken did a great job but "stuff" happened on our 6 week trip that I had to fix. If you're not mechanically inclined that may be a
problem.

According to the TZE number that GMC was once owned by Bryan Wartman of Andover, NJ. He had registered it with GMCMI in 2000 but he dropped his membership in 2002. It is a 1977 Kingsley.
That is all I know about it.
