So I installed a victron 12/1600/70 inverter/charger (http://www.solarshop-europe.net/product_info.php?products_id=692) and 280 A batteries in Olga only to find out I had a hotskin. about 70 volts and only a few miliamps
In Denmark we have 230 volts 1 fase, neutral and earth I found out there was a broken earthwire in the house.
That makes me think a rather new electric installation in a civilised country can a fault like this that is potential lethal, what is going to happen on small campsites in spain or portugal or marokko even ?
For the future i will make sure that any landlines are connected properly and I will make a earthing stake as a backup

That´s right, but I am sure there are a lot of dodgy electric installations in the US, and what a bout Mexico
So all of you, take care out there

I keep an Outlet Tester plugged in in the coach. It lets me know if there is an issue.
<https://www.google.com/search?client=ubuntu&channel=fs&q=Outlet+Tester>
In a place that i haven't plugged in before I take it and test before plugging in the coach.
I ASSUME that they are available in voltages for other countries.

Your hot skin problem is obviously not a wiring error because you are only seeing 70 volts on the skin. Usually the problem you are seeing is caused by a shorted water heater element. This can happen even when the heater is turned off because we only turn off one side of the element.
I agree that the safety ground is a concern and needs to be properly installed and connected whenever running on shore power.

I keep a tester connected in an AC outlet on the overhead just behind the door to the head.

It was a wiring problem
the 70 V 2mA is wat we call creeping voltage. not enough to trip the safety device and might be coursed be condensation, a spiders nest or the like
the reason it could be mesearured and felt was the broken earth wire that should have let it away
I never heard about a outlet tester overhere, but will look for it, seems easyer than finding the multitester everytime

Appie,
If you have an electric water heater, DISCONNECT (not turn off, but really disconnect) both wires going to your heating element in the water heater. Then take a voltage reading again on the skin of your coach looking for that 70 Volts AC.
It could be something else causing your problem but in a GMC it is almost always the water heater electric element causing the problem.

I do appriciate your concern Ken
Olga i striped of all apliances and I made sure the voltage came from the house.
Also there were no other connections on the group in the house other then a few lamps and outlets
It is save now
