I've had a small leak behind the toilet since I bought the coach. Not enough to really bother me but. . . So I finally pulled the toilet today and jury-rigged some brass fittings to test it with a garden hose and sure enough, it's leaking about two drops a minute from the ball valve at the bottom.
Anyone know where to find replacement parts? This is the original Thetford Aqua Magic GH. According to the manual the part number for the ball valve is #08215. I find Thetford ball valves but they are listed as for Aqua Magic III" or later, have different part numbers and when a model year is stated it usually says "since 1990" or later. When I worked on the toilet on my 75 Airstream I could only find "mechanism assemblies" (the bottom) and "vacuum breaker assemblies" (the top). Pricy but at least I knew they were for the right model. I'd rather just replace the ball valve and maybe some tubing since I'd like to replace the whole toilet down the road. Will the Aqua Magic III valve fit the GH?
Thanks
Darryl

Contact Tedford and see if they still supply them, if not we can get you
used part, but it will leak sooner or later, so were not too excited to
supply them.

Since parts are difficult to locate, what is the best fitting replacement toilet?

Steve,
I have a new Thetford Aria china bowl toilet with push button (no floor
pedals) flushing and water; this currently retails in the $600+ range at
PPL and is not currently sold by Camping World (not this particular
model). It was purchased by my deceased friend Cecil Miller 11 years ago
and is still in the original packaging; has never been removed to my
knowledge; I did look to see that it was still in one piece. His wife
would like to sell it; $200 plus shipping to you or anyone else that would
like to upgrade their toilet. Comes with all the documentation. It is
located in Winston-Salem, NC.

Found it!
After a lot of time on the Internet I finally found the ball valve for my Thetford Aqua Magic GH. Everywhere I looked had something that looked like it would work but described it as being for an Aqua Magic III or IV from 1990 or later. Found it at AAA RV Appliance Parts http://www.aaarv.net/replacement_parts.htm
No way to order on-line so I found their contact information - turns out to be in Sacramento so I drove over (20 miles) to eyeball the part. Not only did it look right but the package actually said "Aqua Magic GL/GH". A little pricey at $50.00 but at least I knew it was the right one. Leak fixed.
I really think the ones listed for later models would work but I couldn't get anyone to tell me that. These folks have a LOT of parts. The counter had about twelve feet of parts books. I don't know how deep their inventory is (I may have got the last GL/GH ball valve) but if you are looking for an appliance part I would give them a call.
