I have a Web-Based GMC Part list progam available for use.
Keep in mind it needs to be flushed out a little.
It has the data from the old GMC part list that was available from BDub.
I will ask that items from the Parts List available from one of the GMC groups not be put in at this time.
I am making control over those items to preserve their effort to limit it for their members.
However, a designated administrator can be established from that group to control/allow their list to be included. Only their members would be able to view those parts, but they would be able to view ALL parts in the system including parts added by other people. Other people would not be able to see those parts identified by them as FROM their list. Please take a look and keep in mind, I am hosting it on a spare compt I have on my network..
the URL to get to it is..
http://cbwoodsr.no-ip.org/GMCParts/index.asp
The main site is one I put up to show my experience for prospective employers which has a 'sample sites' area which includes the GMCPart list under 'Solutions'.
To send me suggestions/etc, Please use the email cbwoodsr at swbell dot net
ps to BDub, this is the one I was talking to you about before.

Same error message is displayed this morning at 9:26 AM EDT.
Welcome to the world of administrating technology where the computer makes
no mistakes but the people who manage them forget the process. Ask my how
I know.

By the way, thanks for the great effort. I hope it works out. Something
like this was what I was asked about by a guy from down under. The idea
was that one could go to the local auto parts store for a part that wasn't
GMCMH specific and do a couple of queries to get cross-reference data.
To JimK, I don't believe the effort is to circumvent people dealing with
you or other vendors. And, as Charles pointed out, if you wanted to get
info there you seem to be welcome.
My only suggestion would be to make the site something we, in the web
world, call "responsive". That is, build it in such a way that the CSS
used can collapse parts based on whether a user is using a mobile device
or a desktop. The guy going to the parts store will be carrying a smart
phone and not his laptop. He'll be using mobile broadband (and the
inherent speeds there) instead of his home router that's attached to a
higher speed connection.

Good recommendation Byron. I am really happy with the Twitter Bootstrap
framework for making responsive web design without needing to learn the
complexities of CSS.

And then there's another way to do the magic -- one of the OpenSource SQL
solutions on the rear end with a PHP front end. Just saying --
