I had talked to the Iowa DOT about the Coachman number. They had no interest in doing anything. It's going to Wisconsin. We'll try again. So, back to my question. Is this vary common? Bob Dunahugh

It's the circumstance on mty Transmode. The l;ady at the tag oprifice gave me a procedure to get it corrected - and noted "Go ahead and use the Florida paperwork to register it. Change will take time." I haven't attacked them yet.

I have a 1976 SOB and the "vin" on the registration is the "serial number" assigned by the "coach" builder. I believe Champion Motorhomes. It's a TITAN on a Dodge chassis. The serial number is 4 digits long. The people at the licence renewal office have never complained about it not being 17 digits.

Dwayne, if I sold the SOB it would probably be to a scrap yard. I have no idea what it would be worth as scrap due to the mix of metal, wood, carpet etc. Although it weighs a lot more than a car I wouldn't be surprised if a scrap yard offer was the same as for a car or less. It's one of the few things left from my previous life so I am reluctant to sell. If I wasn't redoing the race car, I would probably have the funds for a GMCMH.
