I got a letter from the storage facility where my palm beach and my Royale
are located. The gist of it is that they only want tiptop perfectly running
vehicles with current registration current insurance and they want copies
of all the necessary papers. This doesn't work for me for a number of
reasons. I haven't jumped through the necessary hoops to get my titles for
these two coaches. I'm in the middle of restoring them. And I really don't
want to share those documents if I did have them. I have paid on time and
in full for two years. I'm kind of curious as to what their "or what"
options are going to be. I mean I don't see them putting wheels back on
tomorrow now and I really don't think they're going to be a will to get a
Landoll in there. With regard to damages, the damages would be the amount
that they could rent the space for which I'm already paying. Also I am
reasonably sure as a matter of contract law that as long as they keep
pulling the money out of my account automatically they're ratifying
whatever I'm doing. I put in a phone call and ask for the new owners to
give me a call. Hopefully I can work this out without any unpleasantness. I
am in no mood right now to try to accelerate my time schedule on restoring
these coaches. These are supposed to be long-term projects.

Zoning issue with disabled vehicles classifying them as a junkyard or *gasp* eyesore, or an insurance issue with their current carrier, or a corporate lawyer trying to justify his salary by raising concerns about the dangers of disabled vehicles on the property, or your two coaches PO's the owner?

I had to agree to the same thing for a $1000 travel trailer (SC state law does not require a tag). Insurance was $2 a year. Had to show proof before they would rent. They got po'ed because of a flat tire developed over the course of the first month and called me to warn me I was in violation and would be towed. I thanked them profusely and sincerely for notifying me and then went out and deployed the trailer jacks ( just like every other trailer being stored). Tire is till flat, but they can't tell and it has been that way for at least 4 months. And I still don't have a tag. YMMV.

I find that Buttering up the help goes a long way towards getting them to look the other way for the real mucked up rules. Somebody likely complained.

76 Birchaven - "Wicked Mistress" - New engine, trans, alum radiator, brakes, Sully airbags, fuel lines, seats, adult beverage center... those Coachmen guys were really thinking about us second hand owners by including that beverage center... Columbia, SC.

Contrary to some beliefs, there is at times a need for lawyers.  This sounds like one of them.  Any chance they want to jack the rates and you're locked into what you're paying now?  How many others look to be affected by this move?

True, I am an attorney. Although I always try to use my powers for good. On
the one hand, the property is theirs and they can set whatever policies
they like. It's just not very nice of them. I'm pretty sure that the
agreement that I have with them is sort of a month to month thing. There's
no long-term lease with controlling language, there was just a normal
agreement of some sort but it was never intended to lock in terms forever.

Depending on how difficult to get along with they want to be, that is when
my attorney powers would come into play. :-) "Fine, let's go to justice
court, where I bet I'll be able to come out on top. Even if I
lose I'll just appeal to a real county court and that'll take forever
before comes up on the docket. Or you know we could just make a deal and
I'll get my coaches fixed up and off of your property if you don't want to
deal with me. But it will be on my time schedule."

It probably sounds much cooler in my head than it will in reality. :-)

here in ca. they all have to have insurance, run and reg. or no deal.

the property has the right to do what they want or sell you stuff as some people have done.

storage costs go up fast when over due and can change. I would move them to a sage area

some how as fast as possible and buy covers saying you are getting the paper work to the new place

this should give you 30 days for each place you do this till you run out of places. the towing to each place

etc. means you are stuck in a blues song and i feel for you. Donate them to the girl scouts and buy them back

at a very low price and let them take them away. You may be able to buy them back for less than towing,

just a stupid idea, good luck. mickey

People do not realize that if you have to get a lawyer involved, you have already been screwed. Sometimes, adding a lawyer only makes it a threesome.

Attorneys are like politicians - Yours is great, its the other crooked jackasses we need to run out of town... Very Happy

76 Birchaven - "Wicked Mistress" - New engine, trans, alum radiator, brakes, Sully airbags, fuel lines, seats, adult beverage center... those Coachmen guys were really thinking about us second hand owners by including that beverage center... Columbia, SC.

Can't really agree.  I figure advice is about worth what I pay for it.  There are times when paid legal advice is cheeeep at the price.
