Is there anything better than weatherstrip cement for fastening a plastic
sliding window track to the plastic around the coach rear window?

Not sure what you are doing.
I replaced our felt last month using 3-M cement.
I only used a small amount at each end.

I'm trying to install a plastic bypass sliding door type gizmo across the
rear coach window (like the sliding doors in the bathroom under-cabinet
area), and I don't know what adhesive to use to stick the track to the
window "ledge" area.

That's exactly what I have. Think about a horizontal sliding shade
across the back window. Probably white corrugated plastic. Keeps the
direct sunlight out during the daytime, and the direct eyeballs out at
night.
One section would slide sideways during travel so I can see if the tow'd
is still behind me.

Now I get it.
I'm slow at times.
I don't know how that would work for you with the compound curve and all.
We have mini blinds now that have gotten old 20 years plus.
We just purchases new blinds from Blinds.Com "Honeycombs Shades" with the
pull up cords.
Coming this week via FedEx.
The cost for all five windows came to just over $500.00 with all the
fittings, free shipping and no tax.
We did not cover the kitchen window.
I'm going to block it off on the inside and apply dark window film before I
install S S sheeting as a back splash for the kitchen.
On the out side of the back window we have the sun shades made by a lady who
is a GMC owner out of Port Heron MI. Sorry I cant remember her name I'll get
if you are interested
Easy off and on with snaps
As for the glue ?
I would maybe use Pop Rivets?
Hope this helps.

Ron,

In my 73 the top curtain track screws into a wooden strip that backs up the ceiling panel. The bottom window ledge is becoming brittle wih age.

So --- could you double sided tape the track to the glass top and bottom?

No curve problem, rear window is flat. Easier on my back to just slide
the cover.

I'll give that one some thought, Dennis. If I wrap the foam tape around
the side and bottom of the track it might work. Not enough surface area
on the track just to stick it to the window. The bottom track is only
about 1/4" high

thanks,
