I am in process of recovering the top bunk.
the rod that is closest to edge on both sides, bends at 90 degrees on end.
I am curious about this rod. mine was on top, but looked to be always sticking straight up into the foam. I bent it around and put it on the bottom, but not sure if that is right?
anybody know how that rod is supposed to sit?

Ours was on top, I used a cable clamp, just the u bolt, and bolted it to the spring steel, so it wouldn't poke into the foam.
