I have heard 20,25 and 30#, my unit cools for about 5 minutes and then blows warm, suspect low pressure.
What pressure should it be?

I have always recommended 20 psi at 1500 rpm. The strange thing about Duracool is that a low pressure will give more cooling but if too low it will freeze up you evaporator with condensed water vapor. Too much will give higher temperatures.

I just charged mine last night. I evacuated, and put in 3 cans. The glass cleared at about 2.5 cans and it ended up at 25# at 1500rpm. Works great!

If its warming up, and the compressor is still running, I suspect too much Duracool. If its kicking off it may be low.

I usually just like to start over. A quick evacuate, and 3 cans Duracool.

I agree you can't rely on the site glass, but it did clear at about 2.5 cans. 3 cans seems about right though. I don't know the exact amount, but it works pretty good.

It takes 3 cans or sometimes a little bit less. When I said 20 psi at 1500 rpm I forgot to mention that the pressure will vary depending on the ambient temperature when you do the installation. If you have 25 psi with three cans that is fine.

The site glass doesn't mean anything with Duracool. That only works with R12. It is just coincidence that it cleared for you. Usually it just continues bubbling even with the right amount of Duracool.
