I need an ignition coil for a 2 cyl Kohler KT 17 engine (used on John Deer, Airens, Cub Cadet and of course Kohler generators). It is a single coil with 2 leads coming off to the cylinders.

PM if you know where one is.

Take it to a harley davidson dealer. They can match one closely and they work.

Randy, go here:

http://www.kirkengines.com/

Scroll half way down till you see a yellow dual coil.

I found this link in several forums.

Yeah, there's some cool stuff there, but my coil needs the leads to come out the end, not the middle. Loftin in Phoenix quoted me $212 for a coil. Ruined a good pair of underwear over that one.

Can't you just use two coils and wire the primaries in parallel? Points should be able to sink enough current for two...

The bend-over-and-take-it price of $160 for a freakin coil is the problem...
