Are you replacing tube style. Google maximma MX84400 for a very nice replacement for the bulb OEM style overhead light Assembley. Similar footprint, half the thickness, lots of light. I've used 4 so far, and need to purchase two more. Very low drain on batteries, little added to interior heat. Outfit on eBay stores sells them at 3 for $99.
Dan has bulbs if you want to keep your OEM style fixtures and just replace the bulbs, another excellent option.

I thought I'd pass along my experience. I did a lot of shopping for replacement LED bulbs (that directly replace the 30 or so bayonet mount 1141 bulbs that were in my coach when I bought it). I got one each of five or six different types (none of them expensive), and some produced horrible bluish "harsh" lighting, some put it out in the wrong direction, and the 9-LED panels I finally settled on were really nice. They put out light that's just a tiny bit cooler than the incandescent bulbs (but only to the point where it's an improvement over the yellowish original light), and I have yet to have a single failure after about 9 months. They mount with included double-sided sticky foam, and hook up with an itty bitty little wiring harness that has a bayonet style plug. They were in the $3 range, so will pay for themselves in pretty short order, since they seriously reduce my lighting current consumption.
FWIW, I put the ones I didn't like too much in out-of-the-way locations like my tool crib and used a couple of the bluish ones to balance out the warm white in the bathroom to give my wife the option of more daylight-like lighting (I can switch them in or out with the multi-position switch in the two fixtures).

Mark,
Do you remember the vendor or model of the lights you settled on?

WD0AFQ wrote on Fri, 26 April 2013 17:47 | That's the color I personally prefer, 3000-3500. The good ones have regulation on the back so voltage spikes won't blow them. At 30 bux I am thinking those do, but I did not see it stated.

That's $27 for ten of 'em... I don't know if they have any kind of overvoltage regulation or not, but I do know that that my PD power converter puts out over 14 volts, and I've used the lights for many, many hours plugged in without a single failure (of even a single SMD device, much less a panel). And of course, at less than $3 a pop, if you do blow one occasionally it's not a crisis (with the already mounted double-stick foam, they don't take much longer to change out than the 1141 light bulb).

Yep. Strangely enough, it's literally cheaper to mail something from Beijing to the US than from one town to the next inside the US. I never figured that one out, but it was nice to be able to send stuff home on the cheap (I lived in "Red" China for a couple years in the 90's).
