Hey All;
Well, it's been a year since I first met Britt Palmer and his gang of
friends (see the archives) and he has been one busy guy. If you go to his
website you will see the latest pictures and information on his GMC and his
goal of the LSR (Land Speed Record) attempt. Looks like a prelim run in El
Mirage on May 1'st for anyone that can be there. I'm going to try and make
the actual attempt in Aug at Bonneville. Even has a picture of JimK in
there. You gotta see it to believe it. Here's his website...

While I applaud any effort that will bring positive publicity to the GMC,
I'm really disappointed to learn that it will come from another "fake GMC".
That is, a GMC-shaped vehicle with an SOB (Chevrolet) engine. :-(

I agree.
While it wouldn't fit in with the other rules for land speed events, I'd like to see a rule that for a MOTORHOME land speed record, it should be a MOTORHOME! IE: Used the night before and the night after. It should have sleeping, cooking and bathroom facilities on board.... during the run. (Just not being USED during the run! The fastest Kitchen (or Can) on wheels!)
I'd like to see what a "real" GMC would do... IE: A fresh 455 and oem like furnishings. I know it would be respectable.

However, as I understand it if a vehicle goes above "X" mph it must have a roll cage and that's why the interior was gutted.
