Other than that, Wix has always been good. I wonder if they know about it and would be willing to correct even if that only meant including the right O ring instead of fixing the tube. I thought most Wix were made here. Darn.

Wix, like any public owned co. is profit motivated.
I put in few calls and they were not too concerned as the volume of
sales for this product is very low.
I returned 12 units to our Warehouse as defective.
I will search for an O ring that will fit properly by contacting our O
ring supplier.
Being in the filter industry for over 30 years, I can tell you that
having a metal base for the media to bond to is only showmanship. The
quality of the media is what counts.
Media bonds better to paper better than to metal.
We sell Wix only because the GMC community has bought into their showmanship.

Thanks to Jim for sharing this information. Can't imagine what sort of damage could occur if the filter tube would become dislodged in the transmission. Hopefully the appropriate sized o-ring will at least serve as a patch repair.

Go here for a look at a good oil filter. (My dad's design is what you'll be
looking at -- developed in 1959).

Southern Illinois not too far from Evansville, Indiana.
The filter for the TH425 is Fram FT1019A.

Sounds like the exact problem I had with mine.Trans acted as if it were sucking air for a no go situation. I'll be waiting for the correct o-ring number for sure.

Whenever I do a transmission oil change on any of my vehicles, I get ATP filters from my local premium parts house. They are professional grade and come with a premium 'self healing' gasket.
