I scored what I thought was a good deal on a PD9245C ($86 delivered to my front door) but when it arrived, I got concerned.

It only weighs a few pounds. Has someone removed the "guts" and sent me an empty case? Looking through the air vents I see electronic stuff, but for a 45A converter, with built-in charge wizard, it sure seems light. Shouldn't the transformer have some weight to it?

The PD converters using a switching power supply design and
the transformers used are VERY small and VERY light.

Well, if it had a transformer it would.  Welcome to the Wonderful Whirled of switching power supplies.  (Actually it does have one, but it's quite small because it works at a screamin' high frequency, not 60 Hz.)
