When you're on the road, for an oil change, do you add it yourself, after
a commercial oil change, or rely on them to do it when you tell them to
do it? if you DIY, how did you conquer CRS, so you'd remember to do it

Conquer CRS. Put bottle of oil in front seat to remind yourself. Repeat many times, "change oil,". Do not start other unfinished tasks while on the way to get tools. Pick up only tools needed for the job.

Do you have a good (simple) way to remind your self to put the drain plug back in before pouring in the new oil? ... I have done that twice. (Non-GMC though.)
