I just had mine replaced in the 74 GMC. Cost $746.
They used the old carpet for a pattern, pulled out all the staples and found parque underneath which was plenty good as is, but for the staple holes. Left the parque in and installed industrial grade carpet(PO had white Berber carpet-ugh!)
They used a quality pad, glue and staples to install it. They also had an edge sewn in around the engine cover carpet.
It took three experienced men about 6 hours from start to finish. I had removed the front seat and buddy seat and the dinette table for access................Michael at Gemrecs
