Can across this little write up (with photos) and thought it may
be of interest as summer approaches.

This guy used 110volt fans. I am thinking of using 12volt so I don't
have to run my inverter.

Thoughts?

I hooked two computer power supply fans, ie,12volts, to my
unit and it worked like a charm. Fairly quiet also.

These fans can be scavenged from old computers or picked up for a buck at various swap meets. I have mine in the vent and wired to my solar lines. That lets them run during daylight hours when needed. I keep them off during cooler months. Had not thought about the ones inside. Good idea.
Thanks,
Dan

Have used the thermostat controlled 12 volt fans in the frig vent on both of the coaches have owned. Also have the little battery powered fan inside, works extremely well. Batteries last about 6 to 7 weeks.

I used one of these:

http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/solar-powered-rv-fridge-vent-system/47888

It's a little pricey, but it works well. I cut a switch into the line to turn it off when the fridge is not being used.

Dan's system is probably a better and cheaper solution if you already have solar. I didn't when I got this. I'm not sure how much good it does, but my fridge works great!
