In all my years of doing transmission services, I would consider the material I see in that pan as normal and benign and nothing to be concerned about. I would clean out the pan, put a new fiter, new gasget, and button her up.
I see you want to install a Ragusa Pan.
Can you please do me a favor while you have that pan off?? Inspect the Transmission side that the pan bolts to and take a few pictures if you can.

I want to know if any of the bolt holes go through the aluminium of the transmission case. The topic is also pertinant to your Cast Aluminum Pan installation.

Hi John,
Sorry I posted my question after I had already finished installing the pan and serviced. Although this morning I noticed a stain underneath the coach and I see that it is leaking but it seems to be coming from the drain plug.
