| Parked 23' Parts Coach Spotted [message #204680] |

While driving home today from a gathering with some old friends I spotted what appears to be a 23' sitting back 100 yards off the road. I would have tried to get the VIN, but this was so far out in the country common sense prevailed. Looks like a parts coach, as I think its missing some glass. I know who owns the property (not personally, just by reputation).
I don't really need a parts coach, especially one that's been open to the weather. But I would consider it, if it meant saving it from salvage. I don't know if the landowner has a GMC or not, or maybe used to. Where this is parked there are several machines sitting, no residence, just a field in the country.
Is it worth trying to get a hold of the property owner? Am I insane for even considering such a thing? Is this more trouble than it would be worth?

If not too much trouble, at least try for VIN. Some of the parts are useful, but ....
You fill in the dots.
It may be worth the effort, but it would be depend on $$$. Stripping it would easily be a group effort. Been to one, it is fun, but sad. Glass out means exposure to the weather in the interior. Saving things would count on storage space.

If I had unlimited funds, I would adopt every one that has been abandoned, effect necessary repairs, and find loving homes for them. Maybe we need an ASPCGMC and GMC "shelters".

We have all seen them, the jaguar guy, the corvair guy, the cadillac guy,
the vw bug guy, the bronco guy... they all slipped past one or two
collectables and into "I must save these from distruction for humanity".
Usually it ends with a family member having to clear the property in their
estate. If I had unlimited funds, I would try not to buy more than one of
anything, but having one of every classic vehicle sounds like fun.
