Correct me if I'm wrong, the cockpit windows are not available anywhere and must be obtained from a parts coach.
What other parts are like this?
Axles? Torsion bars?

Dave hasn't mentioned this research to me but I'm going to jump to the conclusion that he's researching an article directed toward a buyer unfamiliar with our parts ecosystem. Their first thought is not going to be that the GMC has become the world's only open-source motorhome but that parts are going to be hard to get. In order to minimalize that fear, we need to address specifics.
So, what can't I buy but have to go swapping for? Some, like carbs, have alternatives such as efi.

Yes, exactly, we are putting together the argument the guy will make to his wife and maybe his wife's father.
But if you can say "the only part you can't get overnighted to you anywhere in the country are.......

There are lots of things you can easily get but probably not overnight. Motors, Trannys, body parts, ...big stuff. But it's all available and MUCH more available that the typical SOB that you might have to wait weeks/months for a specific part.
As you said, the front side glass is not made anywhere but there are plenty of parts coaches although it might take you a day or two to find one.
As far as things that would leave you stranded.
Motor, no problem...not cheap but available, several sources
Tranny, no problem...call Manny
Differential, no problem...call Jim K
Front ends and drive line, no problem...several sources
Brakes, no problem, several sources and most parts stores
Electrical, no problem, any parts store
Radiator, no problem, Get a new aluminum one or have yours rebuilt.
Tires, 16.5 are a bit harder to get but you wouldn't have to wait over a couple days if that. 16" are available anywhere.
Misc Electrical, not really a problem but you might have to do some creative engineering with off the shelf parts.
Small mechanical parts like water pump, PS pump, etc...no problem but you might have to wait a day for it to get to the local store.
The above might take you down for a few days while you find someone to install them if you are on the road and away from your normal sources....but then again, there is the Black List.
Your best friend is the parts interchange index that you get when you join GMCMI.
Things that might fail that wouldn't leave you stranded...no problems, I can't think of anything you can't work around with new stuff.
The only OTHER thing you can't get is the standard bathroom diverter faucet.
Furniture...no problem, make or buy
Appliances...no problem
Lighting...no problem, replace with new LEDs
Cabinets...no problem, go see you cabinet maker of choice or make your own.
Windows...no problem, Gene Dotson or Jim K
Flooring, wall coverings, drapes, blinds
Not really much you can't get PDQ and cheaper than anything on SOB.

Ton, If item 4 refers to the leveling air switches mounted in the wheel wells, They are manufactured by a company in Dayton Ohio and sold by Jim K. Rebuilt ones are available from Dave Lenzi. I do not know the price on new ones but the rebuilts are in the $65 to $70 range.

I saw a post to this thread go through the mail side but it didn't make it to the web
"All plastic interior pieces. Window trim, the long piece that goes above the window next to the headliner, front and rear caps"
Of all the things we've pulled out of the Royale, the only items JimB and Rob have said "not available" are the trim around interior headliner --in my case, the wide piece that turns the inside radius from the headliner to the rear wall panel.
