Thetford China Bowl Toilet Seal [message #203099]

We have a nice Thetford China Bowl toilet. I can not find the model number anywhere on the thing. We did not get the front cover so it might have been there. The seal on the "ball" slider is leaking and will not hold water in the bowl. I can see a big gap. Before I was able to use silicone spray to seal it but this time the gap is way too wide. I think it is the Aqua V. Tall model with only one foot pedal. I gather this from pictures on Thetford website. I notice different part numbers for different versions of the toilet for the seal. I have emailed Thetford but no word from them yet.
Anyone had to replace the seal before? I always keep fluid in the bowl but this winter it leaked out and I did not notice it.

Dan;
Remove the plastic cover around the bottom of you toilet.
You will see the model number.
You can buy the replacement gasket at you local R V store.
How do I know?
We replace ours last month.

Howard, we did not get the front plastic cover with the toilet. Bought it used. I guess the model is on that plastic.

Dan,

Where is (are) the foot pedal(s) on your Thetford?

How do they work?

Push down halfway to fill bowl / fully to flush?

Take a picture of the mechanisms on the sides / back and I'll try and figger out what model you have.

Sorry Dan,
I kept thinking you were referring to the seal underneath the commode, not
the ball seal. Just remove the old one and take it with you to the RV
parts store.

Thanks Steve. I guess there is a way to get the bowl loose from the base. Will take a look this afternoon. Thanks to those who emailed me also.
