Cornering Lights [message #202758] |

I'm determined to install cornering lights on my GMC and I think I have all bases covered except selecting the light assembly itself.
Now I'm not blazing new trails here, I know I've seen GMC's with cornering lights so you folks who have them please help me by describing the actual light assemblies used, where you placed them, photos if possible, and how pleased are you with them?
Thanks.Bill

I have a pair of turn lights from a early 90's Chrysler New Yorker that I plan to mount in the t-skirt as docking lights.

I'd think most GM luxury models would have something that would fit like Caddy or Buick E, B or G body car at the men's mall. Sounds like you have the hard part covered

When stumbling around some 4x4 sites, I saw an interesting location for mounting lights, in the forward side of the mirrors.
They referred to them as "trail lights" and they used small cheap fog lights from Wallmart. While I am not sure of the legal part (on the GMC, they might end up too high for road use), they should light up the area "just off the bow" quite nicely.
On the small 4x4 (Tracker) they cut and embedded the lights into the housings. I'll see if I can find the picture again... in my spare time!

I looked at Ragusa's site and couldn't find them. Do they have a part number or name on the part?
Thanks,

My 78 Royale by Coachman has alternating flasher side markers in the ends
of the rub rail. I put another set of lights on the mirrors on the same
circuit. They are yellow towards the front and red towards the rear. A
secondary benefit is, I can tell when my flashers are on. Oregon has a
statute prohibiting white light to the rear. Don't know if that would
affect lights other than flashers like what you suggest.

Bill,
I remember years ago looking at several coaches with cornering lights.
The lights used were from Chrysler New Yorkers and Oldsmobiles.
I got a set of the Chrysler lights before my country junk yard supplier
got wise and brought in a portable crusher. Darn it all!
With the Cadillac turn signal switch, you are virtually wired up.
I think there is an article in an old Motorhome Marketplace that gives
details of the Chrysler light set-up.
