I have found some window felt sold in 8' sticks at Danno Enterprises.. Looks like it will fit and another GMCer had noted he had used it also (in one of the tech pages). part #AS1268. Has anyone used this product from Danno?
If not does anyone have a small left over pc from doing their coach I could compare it to? Or can someone look at the specs on the part and tell me if it will work.
Oh.. Needs to work on a 75 Eleganza ll.
Thanks joe

I have used it and found it to be very tight and hard to install. Once installed the windows remained hard to open. I have a piece and am happy to send it. Don't know how it compares to the stuff Jim K. sells.

The GMC vendors tend to compare notes and know what works and what does not
in most cases.
We also maintain inventory as we have a shop to supply.
Bound, Sirum,Golby, Hampton,Frey, and us work together.
If you have the time to research and find better, I will pay or trade for
the information.
I learn every day from our customers and most know I am always seeking help
and ideas.

Napa seals a silicone spray that works very well for sliding windows .
But you need to be sure that the tracks are clean and clear of any
dirt.

Is there a video anywhere showing how to replace these? I'd hate to tear my windows apart and not get them back together just as I hear thunder in the distance (which is about par for my luck).

The toll window instructions are very simallar to the instructions for the early style big windows. (As on Randy's '73.) Jim B, provided the instructions in the kit I used a while back....

Rob, that is a great idea as when I installed mine the bottom passenger
side would curl up until I secured it with black RTV.

I bought Felt from JimK and read everything posted about it. The thing I didn't see mentioned was that mine were glued down with lots of black weather strip adhesive. This had to be removed and the track cleaned. I could not get it to clean metal everywhere, but I got it smooth and that seems to have been good enough. To deal with this, it required a sharp 3/8" wood chisel and some great care.
My chisel was sharp enough that I could often just push it under the old felt and it would peal right out. Getting all the old stuff out is the worse part of the job. It is made worse by the fact that you can't get the sliding window clear of where you need to work.
The top was more difficult as it had more adhesive and you are working overhead. For the large window, I actually set up a scaffold as was very glad that I took the time to do so.
If you lay out and cut the drains for the bottom, then wet both the track and the back of the felt with Armorall(sp?), it will slide under the moving glass with some pushing and pulling of both. I had cut a piece of pine to be a pusher to seat the felt in the track, but it was only a little help and only at the curved parts. I set in the vertical section and then cut the top to length. Again, Armorall with some pushing and siding, the felt went into place. I did not use any adhesive at all and the two completed windows are now rewarding to side open.
