Having been to Quartzite many times I've never paid much attention to the RV
Parks there. Looking for one night this coming Wednesday on our way to the
Jet Setters rally in Verde Valley.

Any recommendations??

Thanks,

Gary,

If it's only for one night, you can go down to the free BLM area at Mile Marker 99, about 5(?) miles south of town. There is plenty of flat area you can choose from and dry camp for no fee.

There are several other RV parks there but I have never paid much attention to them either. They are liable to be full this time of year anyway. As you know, it's such a small town you can't get lost. If you decide to drive the circle around town you might find a place with hookups. Rice Ranch South is where the Pacific Cruisers usually stay and it has hookups, but is just a big empty graded lot.

Gary,
The only park in the area that is likely to have room is just before you
cross the river into Blythe, the KOA on the Colorado River.

We've stayed there many times and I think Carl and Cathy have stayed
there. Not too far from Quartszite. Don't fuel up until you get to
Quartszite. There 's a Love's on the W. side of town and it is the
cheapest fuel you'll likely find. You'll get gouged in Blythe.

Gary, Better yet, wait to get gas at Dan Gregg's favorite interchange about 25 miles east of Quartzsite. There is a Valero on one side of the interstate and a Zip travel center on the other, and both generally have the cheapest gas in the area.

Ruth and I did this very thing to and from Tucson recently. Margie Van Winkle suggested to go to the 99 mile marker. We went down about 200 yards and then off to the right. We were in and out but there are even some fire pits. Plenty of room to turn around when towing. Dark and quiet.

Coming from CA, 99 marker is on the right side of 10 (south toward Yuma) on highway 95.

Thanks all for the tips. We'll check into Rice Ranch RV. I checked and they
have about 160 vacant spaces after the swap meet folks cleared out. Then
Joanne can use her electric blanket. !!

If you really need hookups I would suggest Mayflower park it is about a mile and a half north of the KOA (Riveria) and 10 or 15 bucks cheaper a night both are on the river it is a Riverside County Park we spent a month and a half there. As far as needing a heating blanket? It is likely around 90 degrees there now in the day time, I didn't need heat at night when I was there 3 weeks ago? The gas is real expensive there and about 60 cents or so cheaper just 3 miles across the river at Flying J. in Arizona. Quartzite should be pretty empty January is the busy time there its too hot now.

Roy is right. High temps in Quartzsite will be about 90 with lows in the high 60s this week. the electric blanket will probably not be a factor. It will be a bit cooler in Camp Verde (higher elevation, 5 - 6 degrees cooler). See you there at the SJ rally. We'll be arriving early, trying to get through Phoenix before rush hour.

Gary,
Better check to see if they will charge you for just the one night you
stay. It is a real dust bowl right now. But, if you stay, walk over to
the Gambler RV supply/Surplus. Lots of neat stuff at bargain prices. It
is a "must".
Should be about mid 80's today.
