For those who are hunting for the 16" GMC OEM Steel Wheels. These are two of the Firestone Accruride part numbers:
1. 28177 with conventional valve stem.
2. 27994 with Oval big truck style valve stem. NAPA part number of the valve stem is 90-282, for about $8.
Both are identical, with the same load 2440 lbs @ 75 p.s.i. Only difference is the valve stem.
These numbers are stamped on the inside of the rim, along with other information. They are not listed on the current Accruride Web Site, probably obsolete.

If someone ended up with the oval hole wheels, I thought they all were and bought enough for all the wheels I had. I have at least an half dozen that I will part with at my coat + shipping as inexpensively as possible.

I plan to bring some to Dothan.

Yes, these numbers are for the "correct" bowl shaped steel wheels. They are on my coach. Some 80mm calipers need to have a small insignificant tab smoothed done the clear the rim.

If not, there are the spacers that Jim Hupy sells: http://www.bdub.net/jhupy/

The 16" OEM steel wheel stamped "280581" is lug centered and not suitable for our coach. The hub hole is too large. The lug hole pattern and the size and offset are correct. I don't know where it came from, but I'm stuck with one. Changing it over to the spare tire rim.

I have one with an oversized hub hole too. I think a PO reamed it out deliberately for some unknown reason. It is currently on the driver's side front. By the time I need new tires I will have a replacement for it.

No, your PO didn;t get jiggy with a file, that is a 1989 and later GM rim.  They changed the centerbore to larger then.  If you want a steel rim to fit, it needs to be 89 or before.  Don;t know the number on them, they are too old for me to mess with.  Sorry but the only real way to go to 16" is to use the Eagles Jim K. offers.  Hey, they are over $100 less than the Alcoas when they could be had-- tell me any part that has it's cost decreased by @ 1/3?

Just close your eyes and write the check...

If anybody needs the valve stems for oval stem hole rims, get back to me. I got a bunch when I was collecting steel rims, but only a few survived the cut. So, I have a few spares that need a good home. I paid about 6$ each, but I can guarantee that the new stem plus shipping will be less than 8$.

As much as I would like to do that, doing so would mean no food on the table for a month or so.
Unfortunately, if the GMC hobby gets too expensive it will either sell or get parked in the pasture.
I could sell the 1973 23' mostly stock Sequoia with 16" steel rims and new Michelins for $8K plus or minus and still have the CanyonLands to piddle with.
Pictures are here: http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/73-sequoia-23-footer-for-sale/p45598-w-027.html
I would take $2k for the CanyonLands with the rusted frame.
