I had a perfectly good Blue Ox Tow bar and sold it to Ross along with my 78 Royale. Now that I've bought another coach, I want to pull my 04 Jetta 4 down. Looking for a good used one.

I could also use a used baseplate, but probably will have to go new. Everything about a VW is expensive! Sad

Only looking for a coach mounted tow bar. Not interested in Vehicle mounted bars. Thanks

Slick,

I have a Blue Ox and some kind of baseplate that might adapt. I don't plan to use them. I paid $150 and they could be yours for the same. Have no idea about shipping but perhaps someone from here is going to Dothan...

Rob - looks like he is in Portland, OR.

That sounds like a deal to me. Wonder what shipping would be? I guess Ken Henderson could pick it up on his westward venture but that doesn't help me until September.

I found another one on the Bluebird site. Owner is a Newell driver - go figure.

Here's the ad: I've got a Demco Aluminator towbar, 5000# capacity in good shape. The ends are (I believe) for Blue Ox. It does fit Demco baseplate.
I'd like $175 plus shipping (about $50-60). Or if you have someone to transport I'm in Thibodaux, LA.
Let me know if you're interested.

Methinks it might be a little light duty, but what do I know. My VW weighs in at over 3000 lbs. but that is towed weight.

What if I wanted to pull a 6000lb. vehicle - not that I would but does that number correspond to the 5000lb limit, meaning I'd be over capacity?

Enlighten me on just what I need.

Glenn - I assume this is a coach mounted apparatus. If so, do you have safety cables, etc.? Wonder what the towing capacity is? I can look it up with a model number.

Thanks - Stick

Ted- I might just take you up on that. It'd be one less thing to worry about in the short term. Let me think about how to come get it.

Thanks
