Rev your engines!!!
Prepare now to join in
Plans are now under way for that "Gotta Do Route 66" 2014 - Round trip
from the west coast - approx 6000 miles. We should be in Detroit around
May 30th weekend and then into Chicago June 7th weekend. Ending in Santa
Monica around June 22 weekend. There about.
We are looking at departing from the upper West Coast of the USA the
Weekend of May 23rd 2014 and getting into Detroit the following weekend.
Roughly a week touring the Museums before heading to Chicago ( tour the
city) then start Route66 figuring it will take us 14 plus or minus days.
This is our first rough estimate.
Just for a Heads up.
Those considering this I encourage you to pick up Tom Snyder's book -
Route 66 Traveler's Guide and Roadside Companion. I got mine from Amazon.
I also picked up another book Route 66 Still Kicks. Good read.
Please let me know because I have started a Route 66 Group file for emails.
If you know of Rallies in your area that we could hook up to - great.

Route 66 ends at will rogers beach on pch, note this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HDjwmJD3ISs
You could end your trip at the will rogers ranch and polo field just up the road from the end of route 66. There is a large parking lot there
where they filmed bay watch every day for years. Right by the Beverly Hills beach club and will rogers beach with the stone monument
that states route 66 ends there to see the sun set on the santa monica bay, pacific ocean.

It is the best place on earth to end a voyage. really great area. There is a camping area up past that north of malibu at the county line just past
point dume. about 20 miles north past the end of the route 66 at will rogers beach.
