Sorry to hear that your Melissa had to go through a knee replacement but glad to hear that all went well. I hope the after operation
physio goes well also.

Ditto, Gene.

When I decided to go all in with GMCs and have JimB remake one for me, Dave Silva harrassed me as to my reasons. One, which I put down at the bottom of my list, was 'hospital pod' or somesuch. At the time, I thought I was perhaps overly sensitive to that possible use because, well, sleeping in a lawn chair for a few weeks tends to make one overly sensitive physically. I can't say I've ever noticed a coach dry-camping in a hospital parking lot, so I've been kind of surprised that use has already popped up here in the forums a couple of times. So, yeah, chalk up yet another reason to love your GMC.

Ken & Judy Booth have a similar success story. From AZ, in CA for Ken's
cancer treatment for well over a year. Stayed in a park a very short
distance from the center. Same success as Melissa.
She'll be a lot happier with that new knee.

The hospital that wife's doctors use, (So that makes it her hospital) has a small RV parking area with water and electric. Free to families of hospitalized "inmates," sure comes in handy.

I am not sure how common this is...

NOTE to Gene & Melissa:

Of all our other friends who have had knee and hip replacement surgery,
those who have followed the Dr's and PT folks instructions to the letter
have had, by far, the best recoveries. Some who have sluffed off or
ignored the docs are still suffering after several years.

Best wishes to you and Melissa.

Gene tell your wife it gets better everyday! My mom had to have both knees replaced.. She has always been a lady on the move. trips to everywhere. After her knees started bothering her she could not go anymore.. Was one sad lady.. after her 2nd knee replacement, the first thing she did was go on a trip up north. And was up and running like nothing ever happend..

Just thought I would share this with you.

But hey even in a hospital parking lot it doesn't get better then a GMC!

Gene, Great story. Marilyn and I wish her the best with the rehab. In this case, the doctor knows best. Smile
Last Fall, Marilyn and I used our coach as a living pod at our old address. House was empty, but we needed to do some serious work, because of the lousy market. Stayed about 3 weeks in the coach.

Gene, When Mary was in OHSU Hospital and her condition was very serious, I
moved my Gmc to the hospital. They have a small RV parking area with
Electrical Hook ups. Water is close and sewer pick up can be arranged. The
Campus Security shuttled me back and forth to the coach. It took a lot of
the stress out of the situation for me.

Hi Gene. Hope Melissa recovers nicely. Our youngest daughter had to have both knees replaced and is doing wonderfully well.

I hope to be able to use our coach to help facilitate book-signings. Leaned yesterday my book is now on Amazon's best sellers list. I feel so honored and blessed.

I worked with her and helped her do her exercises as insttructed -
sometimes having to remind her and encourage her some - and her knee has
never given her any problem.

good news
seems to be going well
