Just about to take the saws all to the coach. Found the welds that need to be cut out. Found some outside skin material. Taking lots of photos. Hope to paint by the end of next week. I need the number code for a 78 Royal. It's the tan that I think all Royals had. I'm also working on a powered remote controled ramp that will come out, and up from under the coach to the door. E-mail or 319-521-4891 cell Thanks Bob Dunahugh

How much ground clearance that going to give you?

Bob, I found the paint chart I was telling you about:

http://www.gmcmotorhome.com/faq/GMCExterior2.html

I'm assuming your is the beige at the bottom and also assuming that all Transmodes were painted at the factory. Of course, we all know what happens when I ASS U ME things.

I took the Ditzler paint code for my 77 to my paint supplier and had him mix up a quart of Acrylic Enamel to which I added hardener....Perfect match.

Kerry Pinkerton - North Alabama Had 5 over the years. Currently have a '06 Fleetwood Discovery 39L

Or how about a simple ramp and have the coach kneel via the air bags, or
would that not get you enough?

I use a 9' suitcase ramp. She says it's too steep because she refuses to use the seat belt. I considered raising the floor enough to store the ramp. That would only be a option if it did not reduce the ceiling height too much for the caregiver.

Dave Lowry of Santa Fe had an aluminum ramp that slid straight in under the doorway and acrid unjust under the frame. He said it worked great and didn't have any problem with road clearance. He could not walk so he had a track across the ceiling to the back bedroom with an electric winch and sling. This allowed him to get to the bathroom and the bed.

After his death his wife, Dege, sold the GMC. I don't know where it is today.
