My front turn signal is not getting ground. Ive traced that to the socket in the housing. How do I get the socket out of the metal turn signal pot? I tried to pry lightly at it, but don't want to mess it up.
it looks like corrosion or gunk between the socket and the actual metal housing, so the ground isn't getting to the socket.

Donovan,
You can fiddle around with that for years, or you can solder a wire to the socket and lead it out to the ground wire on a mounting screw. The wire should be about 5" long with a ring staked on the end.
I tried:
Cleaning the inside of the socket. (about 3 days)
Cleaning where the lamp socket is crimped into the reflector. (about 2 months)
Soldering the lamp socket to the reflector. (about 1 week)
Soldering a solid wire between the base and the reflactor. (about 1 month)
Did the wire trick above about two years ago and haven't had to look at it again. The glimmering turn signal indicator is gone.
