I saw this ad on craigslist: http://stlouis.craigslist.org/rvs/3507529050.html
My question is: Was the 2 place seat on the passenger side in the front a factory option and if so does it work well. In other words are they comfortable enough to sit in for extended periods.

The buddy seat was an option -- some swiveled, possibly only the 23 ft.
I have not ridden in it for extended periods -- but others find it comfortable.

Thank you for the responses. This looks like an interesting addition to the Twinkie. The grandson gets rather upset sitting in back by himself....

The double seat was an option and it was installed in my coach. Since our kids and grand kids are grown up I installed a seat with armrests in it's place. The double seat is still in my garage since after 5 years she isn't sure she is going to like the single seat.

our 77 Eleganza II came with a buddy seat - not the squared type but the
same shape as the original seats. The mounting plate was wider and
swiveled like the regular seats do. THe Odd thing was the drivers seat was
about 10% wider than the standard drivers seat.
Comfort: the buddy seat was comfortable and great for riding with 2
grandchildren up front or Sharon and a grandchild.
Comfort: the Wider drivers seat was not comfortable since the seat was
convex and sitting in the middle I was off centre with the Steering wheel.
I found it tiring.

Disadvantage: Very little space between the seats for a small cabinet.

I took them out and installed the Honda Seats.

Dwayne,
Do you believe these oversized seats were the originals? If so does your glove box service parts sticker note them as an option and do you have a picture of them (only if originals)?
Thanks.

they had to be originals because the fiberglas backs are larger than the
regular seats - these backs were made to fit the buddy seat.

Will dig into my pics and send you one.

I just made one using the middle seat from the honda odyssey, it is removable for easy access to engine. I will post a picture soon, as my cockpit replacement floor is just going in.

my buddy seat conversion using center seat from 2012 Honda Odyssey, my now ex-Canyon Lands had the original buddy seat. I thought was a great idea, but a low back bench seat could not be comfortable for any length of time. this was my solution.

She's probably the most anxious. Her first ride was when we bought it last June, the engine blew on the way home.
