Give us a shout when you are in southern Oregon. We are 26 miles SW of Grants Pass (on the I5) on US199 (the Redwood Highway) going toward the Crescent City, CA (on US101). Lots to see and do here. If you decide to linger longer join us for the combined GMC Western States/Cascaders/49ers rally in Coos Bay, OR, the first week in October!

Now that I'm free of encumbrances here in GA, I'm planning to make my
long-delayed trip to the NW this summer. Present plan is to go to Bean
Station the first weekend in May and head west after that. Some time
before GMCMI Branson in September, enroute home, we'll tour the
Olympic Peninsula and BC. Routes and stops between those points are
completely up in the air right now.

For the most part, I'll let GPS choose the roads, my not knowing any
better, with toll and interstate highways locked out. There are some areas
where "you just can't get there from here" without following the
interstates, but for the rest of the country, I want to see the sights, not
the tractor-trailers.

Here's a rough preliminary route: http://goo.gl/maps/OwWQV Most of the
stops shown are at places we have relatives or know GMCers.

Advice on must-see sights, nice/cheap/friendly campgrounds, invitations to
visit, etc., appreciated. Since we've been to Cascades, Glacier, Rushmore,
Bad Lands, Jasper, Banff, and Kootenay NP's, we're most interested in the
Kamloops area as our "destination" -- IF it's worth it. Should we include
Vancouver Island? How much is the ferry ride?

The whole thing's tentative at this point. Especially the "out to the
south and back to the north"; I haven't yet given much consideration to the
weather.

Jerry,

You're right on our route north from CA -- in fact, it looks as if you just
barely escaped from there!

I'm anxious to see your shop and products.

Wish we could (hope we can) participate in some rallies while on the
round-robin, but we'll have to be back in Branson by about 18 Sep for GMCMI.

Ken
I once had a Millwork Shop that did executive furniture, Birds Eye maple
with inlaid woods , brass etc. So I have an appreciation for high end
quality workmanship.
What you can look forward to seeing at Jerry's Shop is VERY HIGH END
workmanship, and a Shop you could serve dinner on the floor without eating
dust.
Just one word "EXCELLENT"

See you when you get here Ken. If you decide to take the southern route,
that is.
