In the process of blocking my intake crossover. I went down to my local Advance Auto and looked on the "HELP" wall for the electric chokes they always have.....no choke. Asked the head guy who is about 30 about them and got this blank look. "For a carb you know".

Oh, I haven't seen any of those lately and proceeded to look in the computer. No luck. So I called my son who manages an Advance Warehouse Store. He immediately connected me to this old parts guy who knew exactly what I was looking for. It isn't in their computer but he has some paper books at home and will look it up and order it.

So my question is, does anyone know what brand and part number fits our carbs?

Kerry,
The Old NAPA number a lot of us used was 2-1603.

There was an additional external control that some used that was more sensitive to temperature rather than powering it from ignition or alternator. Here is pic of that from Arch

This is what I installed on my 1973. Works well. (not my pictures)

OK here it is---the smart choke. This electric choke reads the temp of the engine and decides what to do. On very cold days I have had a perblem. I would start the coach and after 3 or 4 min it would die. The choke would be open but the engine would not be warmed up. The unit with a hole in it goes under a headbolt near the water jacket. I think this will work better than a regular electric choke for us up north. The NAPA Part # is 2-1603. Cost is about $60---the local NAPA store would not honor my prefered customer account #---what can I say---I am in Orlando. Iike the concept---we will see if it works.

Sir: 1976 Caddy Eldo, a stock wire connector helps, but not imperative.

I'm so thankful we still an old auto parts store here in the eastern part of San Diego county.
You can walk in with what ever part or no part in your hand.
Someone will know what it's for.
No staring at the computer and asking what years, make and all the other B S questions.
Just my two cent's
