Got home and parked on my driveway that slopes down to the garage... Jimmy
started sliding FORWARD in park with the brake set. YIKES! Glad I
remembered old-school parking brakes could be adjusted at the handle,
tightened all the way and managed to get it to hold while a neighbor
grabbed some rubber chocks. I'll pick up some of my own tomorrow.
- the tranny pin should have stopped this, might just need an adjustment
call manny
- I use the Hydraulic brake lock

Need to come up with a timber ramp to level the GMC. Anyone else done this?
I just spent the last hour looking on CL for treated timber and loading
dock ramps and came up with little. Need to get the front wheels up about
two feet. All in all a nice drive home. Had to fight the steering a little
as it tends to wander slightly from side to side. Feet were cold, can't
seem to find any floor vents, just dash vents.
I love this rig... :)

Was it really sliding or was it rolling? If you were able to adjust the parking brake than I have to assume that it was not sliding.
As you note, the parking pawl might be worn and not holding. Of course, it is dangerous to depend on just the parking pawl in the transmission to hold the GMC on a slope.
