we've lived in CA for a small eternity and have never had an issue with labels
(or a lack of them) on rv propane tanks. I doubt seriously most propane filler/attendants
know (or care) about this requirement, and there's no enforcement that I've ever
seen or even heard of. If somebody did complain, I'd probably write "LPG" on a
piece of tape and stick it on the compartment (until they went away). Sheesh.

just my $.02

If needed some 1 inch stick on lettering like this: <http://www.lettersandnumbers.com/die-cut-numbers-letters-symbols-label-sheet/sku-nl-1.0-asst>

I am fairly sure that single letters (of L,P and G) could be purchased.

It isn't a big thing but I would like a fireman to be able to find, and shut off the valve if needed. (OBTW: is your compartment unlocked or locked?)
