This site will take you to a page from the Feb 2013 Cruisin Times Magazine. It tells one of the ways we use our GMC. The Corvette is our regular toad so when we are camping we are also looking for car cruises.

Nice article!
How's that Torino chassis working out under your GMC?
It was in print, it must be so.

Thanks.
That's what happens when you don't get to read a story before it goes to print!!

what setup do you use to tow the corvette? Newbie here, thinking along the same veins, want to tow my '67 firebird (convertible). Lots of cruise-in opportunities around!

Jim,
Pulling a Corvette behind a GMC is very beautiful and eye catching.

I made a receiver that mounts to the Corvette after I remove the two lower grills. When not towing nothing shows on the Corvette. I use a Brake Buddy in the toad. The Corvette has a Tremec 5sp transmission that can be towed 4 wheel down. The original 4sp can also be used. Below is a photo of our Vega that we plan to use as a toad this summer. The only problem with that is it has a 4L60 trans and needs the drive shaft unhooked.(The price we pay for the fun we have)
Hope to see your Firebird.

Thanks Jim. The 67 was originally 2 spd auto, and came to me with a TH350. I assume the driveline will have to disconnect to tow it 4 down. Built and dropped in a 400 to replace the 326. For many years now I wanted to install the Keisler 5 spd conversion kit, but big money and time. OBTW, grew up in Toledo, decades ago I was an Ohio State student while working for the State Rep from Brook Park - the Hon Rocco J Colonna.

What a small world.
Unhooking the drive shaft isn't a big problem. When we pull the Vega We carry three 2x10 that are put in front of the right rear tire then drive the GMC foreward rolling the Vega tire up on the 2x10s. Then do the drive shaft.
